One day while doing hir rounds Tanac noticed a river puffin seemed to be following hir around, aparently the same one shi had found stuck on a branch a couple of days ago. Seems like it was thankful that Tanac got it unstuck, or maybe it was just curious about this two legged being peacefully wandering around it's territory. But over the next few weeks the bird got ever closer and even briefly perched on hir shoulder for a moment before flying off again, not to be seen for a few days after that only to once again start following hir from a distance. A short time later while Tanac was gathering some plant samples shi noticed the bird would leave some twigs, blades of grass, seeds and bugs on the ground for hir as if it wanted to help hir collect samples after observing hir.

Since that day they've been together on hir rounds with Qrooh occasionally fetching some extra samples for Tanac, she even would start to mimic some words from a song Tanac would hum to hirself while walking, and shi discovered Qrooh seemed to understand hir native language as well as she could mimic words. So now Tanac has special permission to keep interacting with Qrooh to get a better understanding of river puffin behaviour and report hir findings in order to keep out the researchers chomping at the bit to investigate themselves which would be bad for the local fauna and flora if they were all permitted to just walk into the forest. So they now have Tanac do some testign and observation for them.
