Mandy's great! She's aged up here? How old?

She is not supposed to be aged up there. Its just a random non canon artwork Robin just drew because he felt like it.

I am not exactly sure what Mandy's long term employment plans are. RIght now she works at an animal shelter as a volunteer. So surely she would need something that pays for all the burgers her girlfriend eats.

So, maybe she actually will end up as a barista later. But considering she cannot stand up for long, without being exhausted due to her diabetes, I imagine she likely would get herself an office job.

Mandy is not an athlete or used to much exercise. She has a healthy diet, but actually does not really meet the recommended workout quota.

Hence she doesn't have the best endurance. And extended workout like lots of standing, running around serving customers, or lifting things causes her blood sugar to drop, in her case that happens rather quickly. So she has to sit down and take breaks frequently, eat or drink something, manage her sugar and adjust the insulin doses accordingly.

In amusement parks for example she usually also gets a special access card, that allows her alternative ways of going on rides. For example she doesn't have to stand in line but get to wait on a bench nearby to go on a ride. That way she can use the bathroom if it becomes necessary without losing her spot, and can manage her sugar if needed, which isn't as simple of a task while standing under the sun waiting to go on a ride. Also it reduces fluctuations in her sugar.

In Mandy's and Misha's story there's a situation, where Mandy runs into problems with her sugar levels during an unexpected workout of her being reckless and ignoring her insulin pumps warnings. Sometimes and much to the disappointment of her parents, she neglects her own well being to help others... Luckily everything ended well.
