I finally got to take a few detailed shots of one of my bandmate's nicest creations. I've showed you a few of them before, and here's another. We call this one "The White Tiger".
He has a few old Fender guitars, and he likes to build his own variations on them. Fender-style guitars are easy to assemble, and they're made of interchangeable parts. That's what makes Fenders so practical and fun.
Sometimes my friend likes to experiment. He once installed Gretsch pickups in an old Fender Telecaster to great effect. He's also built a few monstrosities too gruesome to share here...
This time he kept everything traditional; stock Strat body, pickups, controls, everything.
He also combined a beautifully figured tiger-stripe maple neck (not seen) with an exquisitely cracked and checked Olympic White finish for the body. I don't know where he found an original white 1971 Strat body, but he certainly put it to good use. It's a pretty guitar indeed, and it sounds every bit as nice as it looks.
A Crossfolf Camera Presentation.
