“You should have taken my offer, hero.”
The eel sneered as he slithered into the darkness, the glow of his amber eyes growing in intensity.
Thunder could only watch as the small eels dark form shifted. Clouds of inky darkness converging on the small creature causing it to become larger, less serpentine and more of humanoid like him. Arms and legs sprouted forth like shadowy tendrils, thick with muscle and unnatural strength.
The eel in his new form floated forward from his hiding place, now a giant compared to the Shark before it. Thunder for the briefest of moments felt a cold twinge crawl up his spine, he could feel the power radiating from this new creature who's eyes burned with malice and hatred, the same malice that was flowing through the very world Thunder was trying to change. Monstrous in its own right even for their standards, Thunder was used to strange lifeforms being a creature from another world, but this one was simply... menacing.
“You could have had this too. My masters are kind to those of our strength. They grow tired with the old ones as well yet you throw away such a gift.” It said from a mouth now large and filled with crooked jagged knives. “Now no one want's you...” It continued, the tendons of its neck rippling with the movement. “You belong no where, a relic of a time long past. What happened hero... we thought you wanted to change the world?”
“Change it yes.” Thunder spoke, finally able to pull his eyes away from eerie aura surrounding the monstrous eel. “But not the change your masters would bring about. I seek to save the planet from ruin, not plague it with death and nothingness.”
The eel closed his eyes, his head rolling back in a deep laugh. The bellowing sound rippled through the water around them, Thunder steadied himself as he felt even the tide around him pull and change. “And they are disappointed I'm sure. You are strong, could have been stronger still, but now I am glad you refuse. They call me Wolf by the way, as in the wolf of the seas. Not that it matters anymore. I just thought you'd like to know who's going to be the one killing you.”
Thunder's eyes narrowed cautiously as he watched in silence. The old ones are indeed foolish if they allow such a creature to run free. So be it, he was done looking for aid. It was time to take matters in to his own hands. He reached down inside and summoned what powers he had remaining, his skin illuminating with the glow of electricity.
The eel smiled once more. “Yesss... come to your end!” With tensed muscles, he charged.
