So yeah, yet another piece of art I made a few days ago that I am just posting now. Here is Satsuki in the Ghibli Rising AU. Now I’m just gonna give a much shorter rundown of the backstory behind this as I don’t wanna clog up the description. Essentially, after the merging of the Ghibli verses the concept of death had vanished from the cycle of life, meaning that no living organism can age or die. if they die, they revive around 2-5 days after since their soul cannot leave their body. Satsuki still lives in the town on the country side and occasionally visits Totoro as news spread that the merging caused the cedar forest from Princess Mononoke to appear near the town. There is a war between the forest animal clans and the iron town people going on, so the local government puts a program in place to prevent people from getting in the crossfire. However, Satsuki one day gets lost on the way back from school due to the cedar forests having changed the nearby terrain. Satsuki gets attacked by a member of the boar clan as the boars hate humans enough to kill any human they spot. However, Totoro was close by and sensed Satsuki was in danger, to which he would soon save her from the boar. Even though Totoro knew that Satsuki would revive again even if she died, he knew her family would be worried sick for her. So to save her from temporary death, he blessed her with the ability to transform into a hybrid beast known as a “kedamono” at will which would heal her wounds. Now, Satsuki tries to live a normal life with this power, with only Kanta, Mei, granny, and her parents knowing what happened to her. She tries to keep her power a secret out of fear of what people would do to her, but is grateful Totoro saved her life. Still a heavy Wip, but I’m starting somewhere.
