I guess a bit of a Feb-Roo-ary creation. Long story short, a telegram channel was showing a WIP of a Roo TF comic they’re working on so lots more roo pics were shared and the pun “Roo Paw TF Race” came to mind.
When I got home, I got the idea to make… well… this. I really surprised myself how well it came together.
I’ve been good with coloring line art or digitizing my own paper sketches on the ipad since I have something I can confidently follow with the smooth gliding apple pencil. But I’m still struggling at starting the initial sketch in Procreate. The “Making Art” sketch I did the blue sketch digital and then tried to refine it the way I’ve done other things but I still couldn’t translate it from the rough well because the rough was still so bad.
But for this, even though the first shoe was rough, the onion skin the animation mode gave me enough to follow yet still know where I was going and “evolve” the paw into existence.

The voyage of the creative mind takes us to foreign lands.
Far off treasures waiting to be found with just your heart’s demands.
With pencil in mind, we can unfurl a tapestry of dreams.
Of colours and lines, all given life in kaleidoscopic means.
We dip our brush in liquid thought to paint upon the canvas of our soul.
A labor of love that we endure despite the work we pay in toll.
For when we step back to view our work, we shall surely know.
That our art has borne sweet fruit from the seeds we worked to sow.
