Dweli and Tola are hard at work on a possible cure for the progressing... What would you even call it, "Dragonitis"? "Draconification?" "Endragonining?" (Princess: "...'Hot'?") Whatever it's called, they need focus, which means finding a sitter for Princess, just for a little bit.
And while this is going on, we check back on Earth, and poor Janice who is swamped with reporters. After the Storm lifted, friends and family were trying to check in with people they thought were dead and gone. "Holy crap, you're okay! What happened?" "Oh, man, you are NOT gonna believe this! Check out this video!" Hm, turns out people filming a massive battle between a troop of ogres and a handful of mages in the middle of downtown ended up being a teensy bit of an issue once communications are restored. But that was so long ago, Janice and others kinda forgot to try to tell people to not talk about it. (Not that it would've worked. The only way for two people to keep a secret is for one of them to be dead. When you've got 2116 people, you either develop a stomach for killing, or accept the secret's gonna be out.)
Most of the world is more than happy to stick their head in the sand and pretend magic isn't real. They'll latch on to any cover story, no matter how flimsy, if it lets them keep that belief. But a growing number of people are deciding the world's crazy enough, so maybe this stuff really is happening. Still, better not tell people about Terra just yet...
And Magister Yenturan gets let in on the secret. He probably should have been told sooner, but it was a little bit of an oversight, really. Even if he is a bit of an arrogant prick, as seen all the way back in Chapter 8. Remember that stuffy dude who came to the tower, intending to squash some charlatan claiming to be a mage, only to find that Tola was not what he expected? I wonder if people remembered his name.
Also, back in Chapter 9, I added into my notes that Dweli and him were dating when I was marking down personality/character traits for everyone. Specifically, "Magister Yenturan - Tall, thin, stiff and formal. (Hates being called “Yenny”, Dweli gets away with it.)" and "Professor Dweli - Magic animals, younger woman, prefers animals to people. Is dating Yenturan." It's nice to finally get to reveal it last chapter, and put it to use this chapter. ^_^
...It's a good thing I know what Tola's going to choose already, or I'd be biting my claws in suspense. ^_~

Well, it's not "ending", it's just on hiatus because of my health issues. Chapter 38 is started, the first part of it is already written, I just haven't been able to continue it in about two months now. ~_~
I have an intake appointment with a new pain clinic tomorrow morning, but it's probably going to take some time to get set up with them. In the mean time, next week on the 20th, I have an appointment with my old pain clinic to have a Celiac Plexus Nerve Block done, which should help. Assuming the surgeon convinces me I can trust him, anyway, which he's not been doing a good job of so far. >.> So we'll see what happens.
But the story will continue, when it can. I gotta finish out Book 3, after all. Horgust is still a threat, and I gotta reveal what happens with the Cleansing. ^_~
