Rubella virus is a dangerous virus that yet only infects us humans and is a common childhood disease mostly shared both between the mother and her child themselves. It is part of the MMR childhood vaccine and also nicknamed “German measles”, yet a different species as it is based on a short-eared dog (wild dog). Both the virus itself and canine it was designed after is the only one of their own genus, yet Mumps and Measles are both of Paramyxoviridae and thus based on swine species.
