Damn you just whip that fucker into gear and go. I had heard a lot about how the Intruders were "underpowered". Yeah...those people are fucked in the head. It might not be a GSXR, but this bike will snap your head back and throw you out of the seat if you aren't expecting it to pull like that.
Like I've said elsewhere, I think the stock shifter could use some finessing, and honestly I think a Heel-Toe setup would be ideal, especially for tapping into Neutral and coasting. As is i have to worm my foot under it....not cool.
You did a brilliant job on the bike, but the purist in me cries at the lack of chrome. LOL It's a very unique bike, even among a sea of Intruders. As soon as I start getting a decent paycheck I have a lot of plans for my baby. Honestly, I think the stock exhaust sounds very throaty and nice, without rupturing you eardrums and shattering windows nearby.
My friend has a '94 KZ1000 Police Bike, and it has racing headers. You can literally hear that thing from miles away.

From what my friend said (he used to own a custom bike garage) there not under powered just the gear box is so small that they ride at the best as the 50/55mph mark but dew to the small gearing they can accelerate very quickly and better at getting up hills, and this is true! Me and a mate of mine go into the mountains on our bike days, he has a hyoson race bike, 2007 and can get over 120mph i have a 1994 slow going cruiser and i get up the hills and around the corners alot faster than him lol
And yeh i got the bike with forward controls already on it but that suits me very well as it feels very comfortable with them, my dads bike has mid controls on it and on that bike it feels very nice the way they are, he has a yamaha XJ650 (Monster!)
Thank you ^^ and what you means "lack of chrome" handle bars, risers, grips, lights, Vbar, turn signals, exhausts, rear shocks, odds and ends all chrome lol!
The bike when i found it was in the weathers in and out for 3 years and hadn't been ridden until i bought it, it was in rough shape too, engine casing was oxidized, paint was faded and rust was taking over so i bought it, stripped it right down, painted the frame with rust stopping paint.
It looked liked one of the owners tried "fixing" it up like removing the flaked chrome from the reservoirs and speedo with a wire brush on the end of a drill (took me 2 days of hand sanding to smooth them out) and then painted them black anything that was damaged chrome I cleaned them and painted black X3
The engine is still stock and here the stock exhausts are far quieter than the amarican market but a club member said "rather get into trouble for being loud than having a child wrapped around your handle bars because he couldn't hear you"
So i have good rumblers with baffles inside, Oh as of late, i changed the handle bars and mirrors! XD its addictive!
