Ralus has seen it all at this point. He's encountered a werewolf twice his size, anthro Monster Hunter dragons, Pokemon, and a Yu-Gi-Oh monster. Not to mention being flown out to the Lylat system to spar with a up-and-coming Star Fox pilot. (Roleplays get weird, yo.) So when a mysterious portal opened up in front of the dragon after a Tae Kwon Do sparring session, he just shrugged and jumped in. As you do.
Ending up in the medieval ages, the more modern-day dragon was lost and confused. Until he happened across a poster, advertising a coliseum fight with much gold on the line. The language of fighting transcends all time barriers. Eager to prove himself to these ancient nobodies, Ralus signed himself up. 'These losers probably haven't even heard of Tae Kwon Do, how could they defend against it, let alone my other mixed techniques?' The gold dragon snickers to himself, thinking about how to use this gold he's obviously gonna win.
His opponent for the first round was to be a fellow dragon, Arix. The name sounded strangely familiar. Might've been mentioned by a history teacher of his at some point, but that's in the past. Or future??? The gold dragon shakes his head, figuring now wasn't the time to induce a headache trying to wrap his head around it all. He had a fight to win!
The two warriors' eyes meet, and both take their combative stances. The crowd's cheer is palpable, adding to the tension. The dragons strafe, Ralus making a couple feints to test Arix's reflexes. But he didn't even flinch. This worried Ralus a bit, but somebody has to make the first move! Ralus now fully commits to a charge, rearing his leg back for a ferocious roundhouse aimed at the red dragon's head! To the golden warrior's shock, the kick was blocked, causing a brief stumble, yet his foe remained fairly upright. Has Ralus met his medieval match?

Thoughts on the pieces will be in part 2, but spoiler alert: I loved how this came out!
