If straight lines are what you want then I'd suggest grabbing SAI! Has a wonderful lineart-layer feature thingymabob that lets you drag bend and alter lines that's basically made for use with a mouse. And bleh! Don't think being good or not is what should be the deciding factor on a tablet, enjoyment should be. Also, tablet not really necessary! Lots of artists good with just their mouse, hell some people draw traditional sketches, scan them and lineart them and edit them with their mouse and it can come out great! And bleh again! I'm sure you could easily draw something better then this (with a mouse) with a bit of practice and program learninating!
