Item Name:- The Collars of Ms Butterfield
Abilities:- Possession, Gender Change, Anthro Transformation (Cat)
Description:- The cat collars used to contain the spirits of the felines that once wore them.
Those wearing the collars start to grow fur and eventually turn into anthropomorphic cats with only their human face remaining unchanged.
If the feline's gender is the opposite of the person wearing the collar, then the human's gender will also change to match the feline's.
As time goes by, those wearing the collars will start to think more like a cat with some actions (such as batting wool around) will become instinctive.
If there is still a cat spirit in the collar, then the changes will be instantaneous, and the ghost will take control of the human body.
History:-
All her life Ms Butterfield has loved cats. Her first toy was a stuffed cat, she spent all her spare time studying cats, and for her entire adult life, Ms Butterifeld had a career looking after cats.
Cats also loved Ms Butterfield. They were drawn to her, and she loved each and every one of them. Every cat that came to Ms Butterfield was given a unique collar made by Ms Butterfield. When a cat died, it would return as a feline spirit using the collars as an anchor so they could stay by Ms Butterfields side.
In Ms Butterfields later years, the cats noticed Ms Butterfield started to slow down and lose her eyesight, so she could not do all the tasks she used to do.
Ms Butterfield did not have many friends as there were plenty of rumours about her being a ‘crazy cat lady’. This meant very few people would help her, so the cats decided to do something.
The feline spirits began to leave the house and possess humans that were close by. They would then go back to Ms Butterfields house and do the task the cats had watched Ms Butterfield do countless times. Eventually, these possessed humans began to take care of Ms Butterfield.
As time passed, the feline spirits began to affect their host bodies. The humans started to grow fur and a tail. Their human eyes and ears changed to be cat-like. Even the human's gender changed to match the same gender as the feline poltergeist.
At this time, Ms Butterfield's eyesight was terrible, and her mind was not totally with it, so she did not realise her dead cats had returned and were now possessing humans to take care of her.
The large number of cat spirits that stayed by Ms Butterfield's side eventually attracted the divine feline Barong, who also became enamoured by her.
When Ms Butterfield was on her death bed, Barong blessed her, turning Ms Butterfield into a divine being who would be the protector of all cats.
After her ascension, Ms Butterfield follows Barong to the divine plains taking all her cats (living and dead with her), freeing the possessed humans from the cat's controls.
Ms Butterfields last request was to ensure that the collars were taken care of properly, which is how they came into the museum's possession.
Museum Notes:- Side effect of wearing the collar is accidentally speaking or writing cat words at *Meow* random times *Nya*
