Item Name:- The Devil's Playboard
Abilities:-Inanimate transformation, animal transformation, anthro transformation, mythical transformation, gender change
Description:- A small chest with pictures of demons and board games on the outside.
Upon opening the chest, those nearby are taken to a section of hell designated for demons to play with sinners using board games.
Those who are bought in from The Devil’s Playboard are bought in to be extra players in the games.
Players in the demon's game are transformed into pieces of the board game the demons wish to play. This could include inanimate chess pieces, hippos for Hungry Hungry Hippos, nagas in hells version of snakes and ladders (nagas and stools) and many other kinds of beings to suit the board game the demons wish to play.
The sinners will have to play the demon board games for all eternity while the players who came from The Devil’s Playboard only need to play for a few rounds or until the demon in charge of the game gets bored. Once the time limit is finished, these players are sent back to where they came from.
The players have the chance to stay and perform a devil's deal which would allow them to get anything they want, but it is then the demons start stacking the board in their favour.
If the chest gets destroyed, it will automatically repair itself when no one is looking.
History:-There are many people considered extremely intelligent, eggheaded, egotistical narcissists, who believe themselves better than everyone else and go down to hell when they die. Depending on what sins they committed in life depends on where they go in hell, but many find themselves going to a place called The Devil’s Playboard, where they are forced to play children's games for all eternity.
When we say play children's games, we mean to be one of the game pieces in the board game with demons in control of the game. This forces the sinners to have little control over their actions and be controlled by creatures the demons create who have little or no knowledge of how the game works.
Having the sinners be pieces of board games and playing the same games over and over again was meant to torture the sinners, but the demons in charge also began to get bored as there was never a steady stream of sinners sent their way for their demonic board games.
The demons decided to bring in new players/ game pieces from the world and created a toy chest called The Devil’s Playboard which would send any mortals who opened the box to the demon's realm and be forced to play the demon's board games.
Knowing that divine beings would get wingy if the mortals remained trapped in the board game forever, the demons created rules to keep the divine off their backs. The demons set it that the transported humans would return after playing a couple of games, but the demons could offer the humans a devil's deal granting them what they want in return for playing if they win the next game (which the demons would always stack in their favour).
There have been several The Devil’s Playboards sent to the human world, but most got destroyed after being opened once. Fortunately, the demons prepared for this and created an auto-repair function on the chest. This has allowed M.O.R.T.s ‘Artifact Retrieval and Transportation team’ to easily obtain one of the museum's chests.
Museum Notes:-Be on the lookout s this artifact has a bad habit of disappearing from its display case and appearing in the museum's many cafes and recreational areas, trying to get people to open.
