My attempt at this week's Thursday Prompt. This week, the word for the prompt was "journal" and came with the 365-word challenge.
Per usual, please be sure to check
ThursdayPrompt for more.
Had a bit of a "wait, seriously?" moment when I saw this week's prompt as my attempt last week would fit this one better than last week's! That said, it didn't take long to decide on which of my character's journals I was going to expose: this is meant to be a journal entry prior to my transformed-lizardman character arriving at the institute for his "therapy" written by his nurse.

Interesting! I wonder what is that procedure that they are planning to do on him, if I understood it correctly. Quite intriguing for sure. And the research notes format makes me think of SCP and this kind of thing, so it only adds to the intrigue of what might be next. :P
Well, I will say that it will be a better treatment than that of Howard's in "A Cheetah's Tale". "The head" might be a bit rough around the edges, but he's no Dr. Gloria (fortunately for the patient in question).
I really appreciate you having read over this one, thanks much for that.

Perhaps that might be what happens once the institute's work becomes known to the public, at least then other patients would be allowed some voice in the process while they are otherwise... incapacitated.
Thank you much for reading through this, very much appreciate it.

You've really got me pondering what decision the patient might make had he been given the choice, and I'm the one who's writing him!
I don't know if a fate worse than death truly exists, but I would still say that despite the uncertainty and forced nature of this second chance that it is still the preferable option.
Thank you much for having read through this one as well as the most interesting question; I feel thinking on that a bit more might just help me build this character and story a bit better. Your thoughts and time were very much appreciated.
