Hey guys!
This one has been waiting in my queue for quite some time as a commission for Mamazu and Baldurwoof! They wanted me to create a fun image for both of them as good friends yet it was supposed to be a little goofy^^
Baldur strongly believes that Mamazu, a penguin, can fly, so with much self-confidence, he's throwing the little bird in the air to help him to spread his wings and fly XD Poor Mamazu is trying very hard while Baldur is shouting and cheering him on. I wanted them to look extra funny/silly here, so I had fun drawing the penguin's stressed and slightly exhausted expression while Baldur is major excited and joyful haha. With an attitute like this, Mamazu certainly will fly!
I had a lot of fun working on the characters and their shading/highlights here while knowing very wlel in which direction I want to go with the background. So I looked for some references and painted something reminiscent of the North or South pole. It might not be my best background, but I put a lot of time, effort and heart into it. I just really hope the commissioners and you guys will like it. It's been great working on this piece and I hope it shows!
