If you were to visit any Lipane underground city, you would find a statue of Za'yad outside every Za'yadun headquarters, although a few villages might have a statue of his in the village center. Though they changed his weapon to a staff in later versions of the statue, only the original one in Ahk'arnehb depicts him with his sword. As with most things the Lipane build or create the statue is imbued with magic and touching the plinth would show his life story to your mind's eye. Most importantly however is the statue also functions as a security system to detect illusions and invisibility spells and sense other dangers, so in a sense Za'yad still stands guard for all Lipane as one of their long lost heroes. Some of these statues also have spells cast on them to become a golem to ward off any threats or intruders in restricted areas, or they are made to patrol certain areas when guards are spread thin.
During the Lipane moon festival it is custom to hold plays about Za'yad's life and particularly about that day when he saved the city from the bandits and the Mage Eater, as well as stories being told about the early days of the founding of the Za'yadun and the deeds of an exceptional few who also became heroes in their own right by following his example. These plays are an important reminder for the lower class Lipane that even though they may not be able to rise above their caste they can still achieve great deeds and are appreciated by all classes above them. This is also why the Za'yadun recruit from aoo layers of Lipane society, from commoners to even the royal family, all Lipane are welcome and equal in the Za'yadun. And though nobody could have forseen it, they would even have a Vossen as an honorary member one day!
