"A scavenger sorely reminded of his station in this world, bitterly yearning to be the predator he could never be. Oh, Tabaqui. You truly shouldn't have. Fly, my little Akuma! Evilize and throw this dog a bone just this once!"
"The Moth Miraculous, even untransformed, has the ability to detect and feel certain emotions that go beyond the normal threshold be it emotional turmoil that one keeps to themselves or an explosive expression of these feelings like a volcano's bursting point. As a predator, Shere Khan can never turn down the perfect prey. One that may even bring him the ultimate game of all: the Miraculous of the Ladybug and Cat.
After Alexander sacrificed himself to defeat Shere Khan, the burned and bruised tiger had managed to make his way through the cover of smoke with help from Tabaqui. They sought refuge in a Cold Lair that once belonged to Man when he and animal once lived as one. It was there that he discovered an observatory full of butterflies and moths that had made their home there. What seemed like a disgrace full end turned out to be a dark new beginning.
With the window closed, darkness enveloped the vast room to cut off a Moth Bearer's sight along with sound. This would allow Lungri to cut off a fraction of his five senses in order to let his transformed Miraculous hone in on the Jungle's various emotional resonances. His Kwami, Nooroo, granted his power of Transmission to allow him to sense these feelings. Not dissimilar to how the human picked up signals with their curious radio devices.
The strongest of these resonances were what Lungri coveted above all else. For the stronger the emotion, the more powerful his Champion would be. To invoke his power, he need only to describe what these intense emotions were in sussing them out and fully hone in upon them as a clear target. This came naturally to him as a feared tiger back in his day. He was keen to not lose his touch.
His hand open, a butterfly would come down to Lungri's palm by his ever so slight command. With his other hand above the insect, he would channel his power and infuse it within his butterfly to turn it from pure white to a devilish dark purple. At his strong command, the Akuma would fly out the window to make a beeline for its master's specified target. If no target was singled out, then the butterfly would go one that felt more emotional than they should.
The Akuma would often imbue itself either within a material possession of its target or within a limb of the target as the case with animals would be. Lungri would connect to his target telepathically and captivate them with promises of power to set right an injustice done to them or to the world. This let their emotions overwhelm them before they could possibly simmer down and led them to make the deal in their rather raw state.
The Akuma galvanized their feelings and transformed them into a supervillain with an exaggerated humanoid appearance. Their powers would be exactly what they want them to be with a few touches from Lungri. To hold onto this power in their now frenzied state, their end of the bargain had to be fulfilled. And because only the Ladybug Miraculous could purify an Akuma before it goes rogue, he'd claim his prize with one Champion or another.
However, a failsafe was imbued in the Moth Miraculous in the event of it falling into evil hands (or paws). An Akuma connecting to a target via a material possession would have it carried over into their Akumatized form, one that could possible be broken or damaged to snuff out the Akuma. In the event of an animal without a material possession, one would manifest itself along with their new body and powers.
Though Lungri's enemies triumph in the end, the call can be pretty darn close when it comes to de-evilizing the Akuma let alone finding it on the villain's person. One false move, one hasty judgement call may be all it takes for him to finally make his wish at long last."
This is artwork of Lungri invoking his power and creating a new Akuma to draw out his true prey. The artist was great for capturing Shere Khan in human form, especially with that evil eye of his.
