This would be why I never post real media stuff.

I don't think it's bad. ~:3
If you want a smoother look, take a sheet of plastic, and put some of whatever color you're using on the plastic. Then use the clear blender marker to pick up the color off the plastic and lay it down on the page like a paintbrush. You can also mix colors on the plastic that way. Special marker paper is a good investment, too, it doesn't suck up the ink so much.

From what I've heard, it's good to experiment with different kinds of paper with these things. I've found copy paper and cardstock to work best for me, but most artists swear by vellum bristol paper (I think it's vellum, anyway...it's been so long since I used the stuff, I don't remember XD).
Alas, there's one thing I do with Prismas that I absolutely suck at explaining. XD It has to do with getting a smoother color consistency and using the wetness of the marker on the page to your advantage. Granted, this technique is why I barely color because it involves a lot of going over things repeatedly and hurts my mangled hands. :D Definitely play around with both tips of the marker, though. The broad tip is great for covering large areas and most details and the fine tip is good for very delicate stuff.

They're an investment, to be sure. They're more expensive than the Prismas, but you save money in the long run by refilling them instead of having to buy whole new markers. (The refills are cheaper than Prismas, AND you can make your own colors with them!)
But if you do end up buying them, though, save yourself the grief and don't buy the pre-made sets, because then you're spending anywhere between $120-$350 a set, most of which come with a bunch of shit colors you probably won't even end up using. Just buy the individual colors that you know you will use--you'll actually end up spending less money that way.

What kind of tips do they have? I found it a lot easier to work with brush tips when I started using markers...hell I still find it way easier. I just found them a lot smoother to work with. :D
I like this though, you seem to have pretty good control already. DON'T GIVE UP HOPE, LADY!!!

DEFINITELY use marker paper! It makes a WORLD of difference! I buy the Bee brand manga paper (just gotta get past the horrible cover art on it) in the 8.5x11 size. I draw everything out and do the line inking in my drawing book, then scan it to my computer and print it out on the marker paper. That way if you mess up on the coloring you can just scan and print another without losing your good linework! Just keep in mind that the alcohol in the markers will dissolve some printers' inks, so be careful not to smear them while coloring.
I also want to try using markers on doublesided mylar. I bet they'd blend beautifully on it.
