I can take that two ways. First, because he is a dog and chocolate is poison to dogs. Second, he could be allergic to strawberries and he didn't know it he was. If this is buzzkill in anyway, sorry.

honestly i'd go wit hthe "allergic to strawberries" bit, since chocolate is toxic to both Crows and Beavers as well as dogs. (very few animals can handle Theobromine)
