Red and Gold (by crassir)
Commissioned from the talented
crassir, also featuring
arca9t4's Ralus!
Being a wandering warrior, amazing though it may be, doesn't pay easily. I don't exactly need a consistent roof over my head - got that wanderlust, you know - but sometimes I do need to rent a room at a tavern, not to mention fill my belly, and of course maintaing my gear. It adds up. And while I can typically pay my way with treasures I find and reward money from grateful locals, sometimes I need a way to supplement my funds.
Enter: The Arena.
Arena bouts are always a good time! Testing my own prowess, learning new things from my opponents, the roar of the crowd. And of course, the prize money at the end. I don't always win of course, no one does, but these things usually come with prizes for later placings as well.
This one was a touch different from the style I'm used to. No weapons, no armour, hand-to-hand only. Not my specialty, unfortunately, but I still know a thing or two about simple punch-ups.
First round opponent: Some confused-looking yellow guy! He didn't quite look like he belonged there, by the expression on his face. He looked so lost and disoriented! Still, he was at least a fighter - that's all he needed. And so, at the roar of the crowd and the dust kicking up beneath us, we went at it...
