Red and Gold 2 (by crassir)

So apparently this guy never heard of a little thing called defence. A few feints and jabs to test reflexes, then his first real move was a full-on kick to the ehad! Or, an attempted one at least. As a defensive specialist, it wasn't all that hard to block. I was almost expecting some form of counter, but when none came, I took the chance to land a heavy uppercut straight to the abdomen.
And boy, did it land. A satisfying "Oof" from my opponent as he was launched off his feet and onto the ground. He made a swift recovery, though I suspect he wasn't expecting such a tough strike so early on.
Despite me gaining that early upper hand, the golden boy didn't let it get to him, and quickly got his head back in the game. I think he realised he'd have to take things a bit more seriously than he initially was. He was fast - well, not so much fast, as very nimble and acrobatic. Striking from one angle, then another, and another in rapid succession. Definitely kept me on my toes throughout the battle, and he even landed a good few hits.
But my defensive prowess was always good against such swift hit-and-run, in-and-out style tactics. They typically rely on wearing their opponent down with many light attacks, but struggle to break through strong defences. A few good blocks and counters soon left my opponent ragged, and then it was just a matter of a good, reliable strong hook to the face and he was down for the count.
I had to compliment the guy on his style, though. He was seemingly an expert at it - my style was just fortunately a good counter to it. I'm still learning!
Didn't end up taking first place, but I still won enough prize money to take the guy out to the local tavern for drinks afterwards. Can't wait to hear this guy's story and where he's from. Bet it's some place far away!

One day I'll learn to play a bit more patient against defensive fighters. Eh, who am I kidding, I won't!
Ah well, gotta recognize the better fighter. Kudos, Arix! And thanks for the drinks! I almost forgot what good old rum tasted like. It slipped my mind that you guys haven't invented Coke yet. Either way, was a good time.
If I'm ever in the area again, and you need a cleric that can fend for himself if need be, hit me up! I'm more than just a simple brawler thanks to my phoenix blood.

One thing is ability to fight
Another thing is experience to fight
The guy with gold scales has much to learn from the experience and real fight
But i suppose with such a good sparring partner anything is possible
Nice and friendly fights are good to sharp your skills and of course to learn mistakes without being pummeled to death in real combat situation
Cool art
