So I've at long last brainstormed 8 Octopath Traveler themed OCs, and I'm working on them in order of how Octopath is spelled.
As such, here's my 1st Octopath Traveler OC; the Cleric.

Biography: Oshiera is one of the many 1/2 mermaids born to Junichiro & Palutena, being born a day after the bounty hunter twins Dandrenor & Needle were born unto the world. Oshiera decided on day one when she was young that she wanted to be a traveler just like her father, but she had little idea on what path she wanted to walk to make this a reality. One day however, she & 7 of her sisters came across a book in the household library concerning the gods of Orsterra, and they decided to read it while their parents were busy. In one chapter of the book, Oshiera read about Aelfric, the Bringer of the Sacred Flame, and thus read up on his chapter, eventually deciding to be a cleric that follows his pathway. To that end, Oshiera joined the Grand Cathedral of Olympus to become a member & train in more ways of the cleric in addition to obtaining her training at home. By the time she was 18, Oshiera became a potent cleric under Aelfric & even then continues walking his sacred path to this day, healing & helping all those in need whether it be on Orsterra, Solistia, or even her own home of Olympus. As one might expect from those in Juni's family, Oshiera is a kind & caring woman who is very affectionate to her friends & family. However, she is known to be overly doting, especially to her own kid siblings. Oshiera enjoys the company of animals, but is especially fond of cats. Including the black cats owned by her little sisters Raven & Verina, respectively. A staunch believer in the virtuous path, she will not tolerate blasphemers, and she certainly has no patience for anyone who worships false idols. Bakes the best popovers.
Abilities: Being 1/2 Mermaid, Oshiera is capable of taking on her mermaid form at any point she enters the water. However, Oshiera generally prefers the water to be either fresh, or seawater, and strongly prefers the water to be clean before she thinks about transforming, just like her siblings & mother. Following the God Aelfric, Oshiera's primary job is the Cleric, sporting a natural affinity for the light. The quintessential White Mage in a matter of speaking, Oshiera has the responsibility of being a healer for the party that she is a part of. She wields staves as her only weapon, but is skilled enough to make it a good hard hitting weapon when needed as Oshiera has a good Physical Attack stat to make this possible, and she has a decent enough Physical Defense to act as a decent tank, even sporting a good HP pool to back this up. Though she shines better in terms of Elemental Attack & Defense power. During the day, Oshiera can guide different people on the path she is taking at the moment, and during battle, she can summon them to assist her in battle. However, her level must be high enough to guide certain people and will be unable to guide those who're higher than she is. At night however, she will instead be able to use her unique path action Illuminate, which, true to its name, will light up a greater area of darkness than what a lantern in hand usually allows. However, it will also unveil items invisible to the naked eye. Illuminate's effect lasts for at least 30 minutes, but items revealed by it will stay revealed until picked up. Oshiera begins with the following equipment & special skills.
Seraphic Staff: Oshiera's starting weapon. A gift from the Grand Cathedral of Olympus, it has a sturdy ornament on top that is rumored to beat sin out of people. Phys Attack +10.
Silky Veil: A lovely veil adorned to the head. Phys Defense +3, Elem Defense +6
Saint Robe: A most beautiful robe befitting a beautiful cleric. The white dress underneath only adds to its beauty. Phys Defense +4, Elem Defense +4.
Empowering Earring: Max HP +50
Stimulating Earring: Max SP +10
Heal Wounds: Restores HP to all allies.
Holy Light: Inflicts light-based damage on a single foe.
