Part 1 of 4 is here! Adding some history too! I did a fair amount of research before writing this chapter but obviously magic and talking cats weren't a part of the crusades so please take my historical accuracy with a grain of salt lol.
Questions or comments welcome! I appreciate them all!

This chapter is far stronger than its previous ones. Your getting now into a flow of style and work. It shows. What also shows is historic research being done. Yay!
Yay for cat girl speech impediments and call outs. Though, nobody is like holy crap an anthrocat, but Muhammed was fond of cats, albeit all those Raksha djinn...
This is just pure fun.
Dam dirty Templars being a problem per usual.
FA does not take italics, but off of FA, the Arabic would all be italics.
I like that the helpful arab is Ahmed: name means Highly praised of God.
Great chapter, have liked this one the most so far, but I am a sucker of the middle east.

Thank you Helix!!!
I didn't want to throw Shelby into an actual historical event and not understand it. Templars do make a good adversary, and it's fun to fisticuffs with one! (maybe it's pawicuffs in this case). Anthro's do exist in this world they just aren't super common. I also feel like crusade era Christians would likely be anti anthro so their armies would only be humans lol. That's how it plays out in my mind anyway. I suppose I should be adding them more into this story, an easy fix as we only have 3 characters thus far.
Yeah I've been trying to think of creative ways to get around the italics problem. I could switch to PDFs but I like this format, it's absolutely a personal preference thing.
I was looking up common Arabian names during the crusades and their meaning, along with what a proper Arabian name is. I wanted to have a good strong name and not get it wrong!
Thank you again!

Your welcome. Yeah, the live in versus drop it both have their strengths. Ah, makes more sense with the anthro stuff, since we saw the gnoll earlier.
No worries, people know FA .txts can't italics. Your choice.
Names have power in stories so glad your doing that research too.

Haven't had a chance to read this yet, but just figured I'd chime in that you can use italics in .txt stories. You just need to put BB tags around it. This journal talks about it: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/441426/ I'm not sure if all the formatting listed there works in stories, but bold, italic, and several of the others do.
I sort of "borrowed" it from a odd comic book from the mid 90's lol. I've largely modified it into more of a vocal disfluency than it was in the comic though. Like when someone says "um" basically. I find it fun to have an oddity though so I make sure to insert it every now and then lol.
Gieth would be so angry if he knew who had his sword right now!!!

Ohhh, we got some medieval history here!! Actually very unexpected and yet awesome and wow wow wow!! I'm really a sucker for history and especially medieval one (+3 to Puaro's attracted). As always nice story, very well written and very good names chosen. Not everyone would get into "Aethewulf" despite it was actually pretty popular in IX-X centuries both as a surname and a given name. Well, I'm as impressed as you always make me and plus a little bit more impressed for history^•^
Yee! I enjoyed doing the research for this, especially trying to figure out proper naming for the era. Aethewulf (and many variations) did seem pretty common and also it sounds cool lol. Thank you very much for the kind words! I am feverously working out the next chapter so hoping to have it up shortly for more medieval adventure!
