Solar and wind are intermittent power sources requiring energy storage to smooth out their output. The most evident method is batteries, but I wanted to explore purely mechanical alternatives. I stumbled upon the maintaining power mechanism found in old clocks and used it as the basis for a gravity battery integrated to the wind turbine. The hyperboloid tower is a structure both lightweight and robust but also wind-transparent, so the weight is visible from afar and acts as a charge indicator.
