Look, I get that it’s a noble cause on paper. The issue arises when, in practice, cops get away with a lot of under-the-table activities because of the authority they wield. Accepting that fact is a step away from naïveté and towards acknowledging that something needs to be done, that we need to take a stand against the growing power imbalance between us and the law. If you can’t make that step for yourself, then there’s nothing I can do for you.
