Bone chimera - Hades' scroll - Commission
A short while ago, the ogre who lives in my domain, Hageshiiomo, returned from the world of the dead with the payment I had asked him to collect from Hades himself following the delivery of two new Cerberi.
My request was prompted by a miscalculation concerning some of the untimely layers staying at the Manor. As eggshells require calcium, my reserves to keep these fabulous producers in good health were beginning to melt away. Of course, the residents were never short of a delicious omelette, nor was I short of a container in which to record my spells (although an egg is still quite fragile and therefore a poor choice for situations requiring a solid receptacle), but recovering the shells was not enough to provide them with the necessary nutritional supplements.
Hence the request for a parchment for a spell that turns flesh into bone. After some thought, one of the residents volunteerd to be the subject of experiment with a combination of Hades' spell and a creature of my own design, to create a bone chimera capable of producing its own calcium without first consuming it. The osteomancy of the realm of the dead at its best.
Unfortunately, Kleptic (
rubbstuff ) was unable to keep his consciousness intact and now lives like an animal in the menagerie.
Please note that I may be reusing the spell on this parchment for much more... Definitive effects on mortals.
Bone statues would look great in the gardens.

Kleptic was well aware of this possible loss of consciousness and accepted it.
Bu to be honest with you, dear, the creation of the chimera was a form of novelty, as was the creation of the conscious, noise-cancelling mushroom that is Jessica. By dint of experimentation, the basic principles of metamorphosis have been acquired, but some parameters still need to be fine-tuned. As this creature doesn't exist, I had to simplify some of the parameters to get a satisfactory result rather than a pool of blood and broken bones.
The 'human' consciousness of a mortal is not an important parameter for me, not to say that the less human there is, the more I appreciate newcomers to my domain.
I also find the possibility of statues attractive. Perhaps I could organise... Oh, what is it that mortals say ? Ah yes, a rave party in the gardens. That would attract the most rebellious of the population, the most troublesome vermin, and all I would have to do is cast the spell... The idea would almost make me feel pleasure.

The calcium is purely for survival, becoming an impromptu egg factory at the behest of your 'Owl' spell was not apart of my original plans when I was human, with emphasis on the man. I derive no enjoyment from the process in which an egg is produced. With that said, despite no longer being human, the magic that this new... stupid bird body produces isn't half bad.
Again, egg production brings me no joy... The very thought and sight of one makes me sick...
