For Aiya's birthday this year, she decided to head back to Maui to spend it there. Last year she was in American Samoa, but as we all know she's been shacked up there since the wildfires burned her hometown down, and lately it's been raining nonstop (for at least two, possibly three, weeks already). She misses Lahaina and Maui so much, but her hometown is still in shambles, and the land where her house sits is still inhabitable. So, to compensate, she spent the time back on Maui in Kahului, the closest thing to a big city on Maui, and also a place Aiya rarely gets to (unless she needs work done on her Subaru Outback where she also bought it). Back in her Hawaiian dress (and a very rare instance where she's wearing closed-toed flats as opposed to her normal sandals…she did visit Lahaina earlier in the day to see the update on her lands and didn't want to damage her feet, hecne the reason for the flats), she had this portrait taken of her at the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens, which is a favored place of hers. Nice portrait for her to take back to Tafuna when she returns, and something to send to her friends overseas.
