Biography: Hamako is one of the many 1/2 mermaids born to Junichiro & Palutena. She is a day younger than Carmente, making her part of the 3rd line of 1/2 mermaids in the family. Hamako decided on day one when she was young that she wanted to be a traveler just like her father, but she had little idea on what path she wanted to walk to make this a reality. One day however, she & 7 of her sisters came across a book in the household library concerning the gods of Orsterra, and they decided to read it while their parents were busy. One of the chapters was all about the Goddess Draefendi, who is collectively known as the Huntress. Hamako took on this chapter, reading about Draefendi from start to finish, eventually deciding to become a hunter in her name. To that end, Hamako's first order of business was to learn how to fight using a bow & axe, training her father Juni was happy to provide as he taught her how to properly fire off arrows flawlessly, and how to use an axe the proper way during battles. Hamako proved to be a quick study in all of this & even kept her training up when possible. One day however, Hamako came across an injured red-tailed hawk, taking it under her care & spent a lot of her time nursing it back to health. However, once the hawk was well enough to return to the wild, it decided to stay with Hamako, acting as her hunter companion. It was something Hamako didn't expect, but nonetheless accepted anyway since she needed an animal companion of some type anyway. She then named the hawk Marahute when it was determined to be female, and this act eventually sealed Hamako's job as a Hunter of Draefendi, permitting her to travel & smite evil on the continents of Orsterra, Solistia, or even her home continent of Olympus. As one might expect from those in Juni's family, Hamako is a friendly girl who sports the same kind & caring nature demonstrated in the family, also proving herself to be very flashy at times, not to mention affection. However, much like the woman she is themed after, Hamako has a habit of losing herself around animals; even the family's own pets & farm animals, meaning it takes a little effort to make her snap back to her senses when necessary. In fact, Hamako enjoys the company of animals greatly, and she's certainly not shy about interacting with Pokemon, too. As a matter of fact, she's considering taking up Pokemon Training as a secondary profession. Nonetheless, she detests poachers & will never hesitate to attack them without a second though. She also despises the idea of hunting for sport. And, like a handful of her sisters, Hamako is a proven absolute mudlark, never hesitating to throw herself into a pit of quicksand the very second she finds signs of one, or hears one in her vicinity. Makes the most donations to animal charities.
Abilities: Being 1/2 Mermaid, Apulia is capable of taking on her mermaid form at any point she enters the water. However, Apulia generally prefers the water to be either fresh, or seawater, and strongly prefers the water to be clean before she thinks about transforming, just like her siblings & mother. Following the Goddess Draefendi, Hamako's primary job is the Hunter. She boasts the 2nd best Physical Attack power behind Ondine, and she has the 2nd best Evasion as well, though she also has the best chance to score critical hits as well. Her Physical Defense & Speed are serviceable in addition, and she has decent Elemental Attack & Defense power, too. Hamako however, does not fight alone & goes into combat with her hawk companion Marahute at her side. Marahute can attack with a gust of wind to deal wind-type damage to a random foe, or slash with her talons to inflict sword-type damage. Though what she does is randomly decided. Hamako's Daytime Path Action is Provoke. This allows Hamako to challenge other townsfolk to fights, but unlike Ondine's Challenge, Hamako cannot fight herself, needing to rely on Marahute, or other beasts she's captured to fight for her. On top of that, this is a Rogue Path action, so if Hamako loses, her party's reputation will suffer. Her Nighttime Path Area is Trap. With this, Hamako can trap unsuspecting townsfolk to move them out of the way & gain access to new areas. If used while in a monster infested area, there's a chance that she will catch a random monster for her to use. Her talent is Capture. As part of her special Beast Lore option, Hamako can capture monsters in battle, which will automatically defeat them & add them to Hamako's roster of monsters to use. However, Hamako cannot capture humans, story bosses, or associated minions of said bosses & she can only have nine additional monsters at a time. If a new monster is caught while her roster is full, she can either let them go free, or turn them into food items to use at a later time (She will not do the latter if one of her captured beasts is a cat, dog, or cait however). Marahute is a permanent addition & cannot be released, or prepared. She begins with the following gear & skills.
Cypress Bow: Hamako's own bow that she made herself. It's cypress frame is reinforced with titanium to give it some extra strength. Phys Attack +11, Elem Attack +4, Accuracy +12.
Hunting Axe: A razor sharp axe that's perfect for finishing off quarry during hunts. It's also good for fighting back in actual battles. Phys Attack +12, Accuracy +10.
Hunter's Garb: Fine hemp leather fashioned into great protective clothing. It's made perfectly for the purpose of blending in with one's surroundings when hunting in wooded areas. Phys Defense +12, Elem Defense +10.
Hunter's Cloak: This hood comes with the Hunter's Garb. It adds that extra touch of camouflage when hunting. Phys Defense +6, Elem Defense +8, Evasion +10.
Round Shield: A simple round shield. Phys Defense +13, Elem Defense +15.
Protective Earring: Phys/Elem Defense +10
Unerring Earring: Accuracy +10
Rain of Arrows: Attacks random foes 5-8 times with a bow.
Thunderbird: Deals heavy lightning damage to a single foe.
