So TECHNICALLY I drew this back in 2023, back when Iss. 67 was still in development, to coincide with Clutch returning to the scenes after iss. 66 with his mysterious plot using Mimic as a double agent. Thought that it was a shame he didn't seem to be using Rough and Tumble as lackeys anymore beyond iss. 48, as 65 and 66's B-Plot with Cream and Vanilla seemed to imply he'd let them go for incompetence...
Until 67 actually came out and proved he was still using them in his employ so this comic doesn't make much sense now ;-;
Still, I was pretty happy with the gag for it, and getting to do more short comic stuff like this is fun. I feel like Clutch is one of those Sonic villains who has a lot of potential to become a long-term baddie, kind of like Mogul or Ixis Naugus was for Archie Sonic- perpetually a thorn in the heroes's side, never on the same level as Eggman, but sometimes you don't need the same big, bombastic plots as the mad Doctor. Having a more subtle, refined villain like Clutch makes a good contrast to the Doc, and I'm REALLY hoping that he'll be sticking around for a while.
That, and his pinstripe mobster aesthetic is great. Of course a couple o' mugs like Rough and Tumble would be perfect grunt labor for this man~
