“Jim here back with more of the PLB Draft on Sports Central Network. We’re at the start of the 2nd round with AC to pick.”

“We pick, Ernesto Dominguez!” The AC President of the team announces as cheering and applause fill the auditorium. Ernesto gets up to the podium to shake hands and receive a team jersey.

“Interesting pick, huh Jim?

“Yes Mike. One of the youngest to be signed in PLB history and at such an early stage in the draft.”

“You know Jim. This guy shows a lot of promise. Coming from a rough life in the Puerto Caña Republic, then flying out to play ball in the ACCC (Atlan City Community College) system.”

“We get a lot of guys from the PCR, but he’s not from a baseball playin’ school.”

“AC is taking a risk with this guy.”

“Then again Mike, so did Dadeland with Vazquez who went on to win 5 series.”

“That’s true Jim.”

Ernesto’s first baseball season is well underway. It’s gametime at AC stadium with a full house. Let’s see how he does.

“Number 31 Dominguez, up to bat!” The stadium announcer says. Latin music plays as Dominguez makes his way to the plate.

“And the wind up…” Dominguez swings.

“Hit out to center field past the 2nd baseman, outfield center catches and it’s…”

“Safe.” The umpire yells out to Dominguez’s relief.

“A double for Dominguez!” The music resumes and the crowd chants, ‘Dominguez Double’

“That is what I like to hear.” Dominguez says to himself basking in the glory.
