Sylys Sable Remembrance - We Honor Our History
On February 20, 2024, at around 0230, Sylys Sable, thought to be a "grandfather" figure of the furry fandom, sadly passed away. Mark Merlino has been credited with being one of the founding officers of Confurence (the very first furry convention) and a leading figure of molding our fandom into what it is today.
To honor his passing,
Littlfire15 and myself organized a gathering in the Virtual Furry Museum and opened the doors to everyone to help people move forward and give visitors the opportunity to share memories.
Changa Husky personally visited, and recounted a collection of documents uploaded to the world which detailed Sylys Sable's efforts to establish Confurence, and all of the success and struggle it took to get the fandom started.
