It doesn't hurt, it's just a tugging sensation. Those of us into sub/dom play enjoy the feeling of being controlled or being in control of another. So when you're wearing a collar and someone tugs your leash, it gives that feeling of being controlled. Hence a pleasant reminder to do as your dom commands.
