Not a bad sketch.

Admittedly, all I know about possums is that they're the only Marsupials native to the united states and they are known for their ability to "play dead," which may avoid many predators, but it must really suck when the Scavengers come in.

Possums have a great immune system and can't get rabies...from what I read.

Odd, I heard that just like with raccoons, you have to get checked for rabies after being bitten, as with any wild animal.

Actually they secrete a green liquid from anal glands which does in fact smell like rancid flesh. That's the clincher for the "playing 'possum" act. The lack of movement may make an animal leave it be, but most predators won't eat something that smells dead. And I really doubt that once the predator leaves there'd be enough time for a scavenger to come and nibble the still unconcious opossum before it just got up and went on it's merry way :3
