Fresh food is a rarity in Nocturne's world, and one hoarded by the upper class. Most people subsist on heavily processed fare from corporate-owned shops or vending machines, as Nocturne knows too well. They probably could have done a bit better for tonight's dinner though...
I've been obsessed with this company called Squareat that makes pureed, homogenized food squares (seriously, go look at their YouTube). It's such an absurd idea that I couldn't help fitting it into Nocturne's world.
