What was the photograph you were taking?

You are one of the small handful of furries I know, who's actually older than I.

Oddly, back in the day, I was in the middle of the pack, age-wise. Since then, they've either died, dropped out, or became pros or SMOFs in other genres.

Turnover happens everywhere.
Q: Were you into "funny animals" back when this picture was taken, as well?

About this time I was doing the SF fanzine Raumschiff 1 and the comic fanzineHuzzah, which made the first apperence of what would become Albedo. At the time, I was thinking more in terms of a science fiction story that happened to have anthropomorphics rather than a "funny animal" comic. At the time, my models were things like underground comics, National Lampoon, and the first wave of "ground level"(to become the alternate/small press/black and white boom of a decade later) comics from Star+Reach and others.

Already having some hair issues back then, I see! Still the same mustache, though.

I was visibly loosing my hair by the time I was 19-20

Yeah, I've been steered towards photos Bob has posted of Mike Kaz, Juan Alphonso and Steve Martin, all of whom he refused to name because I guess he hates them now. (I'm not sure why he simply didn't crop them out of the photos before posting, but whatever...)

Did you just... took a picture of yourself in the mirror?

Yeah. in part because my roommate couldn't do a good shot to save his life. Wasted half a roll of film on fuzz and poor framing

Oh and.. is that Olympus?

A Canon AE1. Still have it too. Of course by the time I got really good with it, it was made obsolete by the next generation Canon, just before the digital era made film systems semi-obsolete.

Oh, I thought it looked like Olympus OM, but then, all of that era cameras looked pretty similar.

Yeah, 22-23 at the time.

I was 21 then.

So young its almost "cubby."
