Mine is an old Pioneer from '88 and the thing is great, its a 2 wheel drive with a 4.0 litre 6 cylinder engine, and is indestructable. I spun out a few months ago and off the road when getting off the expressway, did a 180 in the air and landed, fine. She started right up and I drove right out of there fine and dandy. Only issue Ive had was rust on a crank sensor.

In general AMCs are the best, Im tempted to go take a picture of my Jeep now. I do remember a few years ago seeing a car like yours at a used car lot, the only difference was it had wood paneling on the outside.
