Cleo, meanwhile, decided to move to the armchair. John, in a panic, shouted at Leonard to hold on to Cleo's foot, so that they too would be transported to the armchair and get closer to Cleo's face. To make herself comfortable, Cleo placed her right foot on her leg. John and Leonard, scared but excited, began to climb her toes, in order to reach a place where they could be noticed. The smell coming from the spaces between the toes was even stronger than what was on the sole; and because of the size of John and Leonard, it was magnified hundred of times for them. The involuntary movements of Cleo's toes made climbing them even more difficult.
