Fucked up thing about him lore wise is it's implied someone or something is controlling his body and he's fully aware of it while simultaneously being mentally ill. Normally when he goes into "static" mode in game you hear he has a clearer less manic way of speaking and is calling for someone to help him. Love me a good mentally ill woobie.
