One of three pop-up crafts I made based on classic art. This one is based on an ink by Katsushika "drew a really big wave once" Hokusai, itself based on a folktale where a tanuki tries to moonlight as a tea kettle before finding out kettles tend to be placed over fires. To match the style, I used an ink brush and watercolor. I also used a different pop-up technique than the other two scenes, but I didn't quite pull it off, and the drawings are always leaning way back - this one was a hassle to photograph.
