A sensation that hasn't hit me in two years, since the adoptions of Orøkia and Hakluyt, hit me once again. Have you ever looked at an adopt and felt a gut feeling that you had to have it? How about wanting it so badly that you end up making a rough draft lore about the adopt before you even adopted them? That was the story with myself and Broye.
The story of Broye closely follows one I got to experience. On one happy adventure, Balans got to meet a mighty being; one that looked like an angel but with the build of twenty men stuffed into every muscle group. They spent many adventures together, until one day Brioche the angel left. As the years went by, the rune-smith decided to put his craft to the test. He'd make the ultimate set of armor for Brioche, so that when he'd return he'd know exactly how much he mattered to the master smith.
Many attempts and many failures ensued until one night it was complete; a full suit of golden armor complete with stylish wings was born. But to see the suit of armor in his forge every day only reminded him of what he lost. So the smith took tender care to drape a tarp over his creation and left it outside his shop. It felt like the right idea until a mighty crash sounded through the whole shop. Balans rushed out to see some sort of wildlife rummaging through the armor. Before he could react, the runes acted first. A blinding light - as if a once buried sun emerged right before his eyes - ensnared him. As it faded, Balans gazed to Broye for the first time; part armor, part life, a creation greater than the sum of it's parts and equally, uniquely, alive in it's own way. A small crescent shape floated above it's head like a halo as Balans couldn't help but smile.
So it came to be that Balans and Broye would grow together. Balans would share his knowledge with Broye as the fusion of life and armor came to understand his world through Balans. Many more happy adventures would come for them both, but that's a story for another time.
A neat lore I hope? I spent a few days looking into the lore of the fusions that Cuchu took for this creation; Espeon and Shedinja. As it happens the Shedinja is basically the shed shell of a Nincada. I imagined it like a shed suit of armor, and from there the fusion of ideas came together. Funny how that works!
I'm rather surprised no one adopted this creation! Let alone he still has creations that one adopt if they chose to! Personally I recommend it, for he was awesome to work with and truly nice to be around. I don't know what the future will hold for this new adopt to the Balans family. But I do know it's gonna be in great hands, after being made by great hands of an artist. I hope you all enjoy!
