My first convention was a great experience. A success on many levels. I had not anticipated how much it would move me.
This text is a raw unloading of thoughts, narration and feelings on the convention and furry community to my international friends on Discord. This is by no mean an attempt at a work of art. More of a journal really. This text is personnal. It's imperfect. It's putting into words in a language I don't master feelings that are difficult to describe at the best of time: the metaphors and comparisons are awkward at best.
The FCD # labels are only there because this was a Discord chat and I needed reference points.
It starts with a recording of events during the FurCalvaDance. Not particularly interesting I think ? But it becomes more and more of an emotional analysis as it goes on.
This work is in essence incomplete. But to those of my newfound friends who wish to read it... Go ahead. It doesn't represent me and my feelings as a whole, but it is an aspect of me.

Part of the magic is that it rides the line between a small convention and a big furmeet. And that everything went swimmingly. I went to three furbars before it and one furmeet of around 20 persons. It definitely helps to have already met a handful of guys, but you can spend most of your time joining random groups. In that instance, they were all welcoming.
