Physical forever!
I would be ok with digital if we still kept our ownership rights like we did with physical. It's perfectly legal to buy used, sell used, etc but you aren't allowed to do that with digital, so physical all the way. Also digital games, and especially DLC, rarely goes on sale for consoles. I have seen games still at their $50-60 launch price years later that are in like $10 in bargain bins physical, and there are many games over 10 years old that are still on their launch price on digital stores, even for ancient systems like the Xbox360. Have even re-bought a physical game because the GOTY/Deluxe/Whatrever edition that includes the DLC was actually cheaper than buying the digital DLC alone.
I am fine with digital on PC though, PCs aren't locked down like consoles so that's one market where you aren't tried to one storefront and there is actual competition in the digital stores, not to mention prices tend to go down and sales are usually pretty good there. Easy to backup or mod your games too since again, PCs are not a locked down system.
... err whoopsie, didn't mean to go on a mini-rant like that. It's just a subject I am passionate about.

True, I mostly meant consoles when talking about physical. I have had some other digital PC stores in the past die, but I just had a handful of games on there from Humble Bundles. Although Valve isn't really in danger of going away anytime soon, and they have promised that if they do the will remove DRM from the games before that happens but I can't really see how they can possibly keep that promise.
I much prefer physical games more. Since I don't really have internet for my game consoles I can't re-download a digital game if I have it. Plus I enjoy putting a game into my console and playing it without having to wait on it to download.
Plus the physical version tends to go on sale more and becomes cheaper over time. Digital rarely gets cheaper.
