Second in command to Nezuro in the ruling of Famine, we have this beautiful snake girl that I got by
FeuilleKitten, second character for Grimmoirea, after Cowleen, being based on a myth: in this case the story Medusa the Gorgon.
Name: Yëli'na
Age: 27
Species: Snake Beastfolk
Birthplace: Barrows of La Flamme
Height: 6,23 Feet or 1,90 Meters
Personality: Yëli'na is a strong willed woman, that will hardly budge in fron of anyone, and with an attitude forged by years of mistreatment: considered only for her beauty, with men around her who were incapable of seeing the person under such a pretty face, the snake woman had to strenghten her spirit in order to not snap. She's able to endure rough treatment, both physical and psychological, showing a strong and independent persona, refusing to be used by anyone.
If most of it is true, more than imaginable is instead false: being used as a concubine for years by the former ruler of Famine, a toy that he played because of her good looks, Yëli'na needs to be with someone who can value her for the person she is, and not only for her body.
Reserved, closed in herself, the snake lady resorts to a mask of overconfidence to hide her insecurities, being able to be enough for herself, but at the same time in search of someone who can understand and comfort her, not seeing her as a prize to claim.
And said person, the one who made Yëli'na fell in love, is someone who couldn't care at all about her body, being blind and so incapable of seeing it: Nezuro.
The mouse is the only person who listened to the serpent girl, who understood her and her feelings, and that comforted her when she needed it the most, giving her a light in the darkness that her life was becoming; Nezuro talked with Yëli'na, listened her and gave her hope for a better life, making her heart melt for him.
And with him, her mask totally falls: she becomes sweet and caring, affectionate towards the object of her love and more than ready to show it to him... even if he doesn't reciprocates her. The new ruler of Famine feels affection towards Yëli'na, wanting her at his side, but isn't interested in the serpent lady as a possibe mate: he respects and admires her for her inner strenght and will, and would do anything for her, but love is something he cannot give to her. Nonetheless she accepts the situation, as being near her loved one is enough.
Like all the other inhabitants of Famine, Yëli'na hates humans, in particular the male ones, as they are the ones who made her suffer the most; other than this, like many of her fellow townsfolk, the snake lady is a predator, who, thanks to her reptilian lineage can swallow people whole, not that she does that often. If someone hurt her, she prefers to use another particular ability she has: the ability to transform flesh and bone into stone, and so to turn her enemies into statues.
Abilities: Like her inspiration, Medusa, Yëli'na has the ability of turning people into stone: she can activate this power with her own will, with her eyes becoming completely black while she uses it. Whoever looks in her eyes, while in this state, is instantly transformed into a stone statue, frozen in the position they last took.
Only Yëli'na, with a kiss to a transformed person, can revert the process, freeing them from the curse. Said spell has, anyway, a single weakness: only people who can see her eyes will be under its effect, so blind people, who cannot actually look in Yëli'na's eyes, are immune from it; in the same fashion, if she tries to use this magic while in the dark, if the other person cannot see her, the spell won't work.
