Here's a pic I did ages ago of a character that didn't end up getting into anything. She was a superhero called the Lemurian, from a sort of Silver Age of superheroes in a place referred to as Bronzeworld... a project that fell by the wayside.
In my stories Lemuria an island filled with Hellenistic warrior lemur-girls (just nod), so this version was like Wonder Woman -- or really, how we thought Wonder Woman should be written, instead of all the screwed-up versions we keep getting.
Bronzeworld gathered dust, but this illo got used as a comic book cover.

Yeah, I can't say I've ever been much of a fan of the comics. The animated feature adaptation, yes--take elements of Greco-Roman mythology, add a touch of nostalgia and you've got yourself an interesting read. Start adding in modernistic artifices and relevancy to contemporary culture, and it starts to dull the magic.
The clothing designs are good--I'm a bit confused by the silver leggings and bodice (blends with the fur tone) and by the blond hair (seems out of place), but exemplary of the best in ancient war fashion. The coloring is bright and cheerful as is the facial expression, and the pose could be featured in a book on composition--it has overlap, a bit of foreshortening, lots of diagonals and stuff that gives your eye a circuitous path through the piece, and a wide variety of curvatures and angles. This is very detailed and has a nice showing of textures. Overall, great work of art!

Nope. This was for an unused superhero project. You're thinking of Shawntae Howard. Or maybe Ken Singshow.
