Yay! Flooding FA with more novice artwork!
Most of the thing I've posted (that are actually my stuff) are either really old (ca.2004) or quickie doodles that were meant to amuse. This is what happens when I actually sit down and try now. Gimme a couple years. :3

That's really not as bad as it could be. (: I've seen MUCH worse. You have a grip on anatomy, and perspective...you just need to work on refining it all!
I don't really know what -exactly- you can do to improve, since I basically just taught myself, and I don't really know technique...>.>
I really like the face, though. So many faces you see from artists just starting out are Picassoish, but you know where to place everything to make it look "right". The ears are very well placed, too. And the head is shaped well. :D It's cute! (:

Really? I guess it's true what they say, then. An artist can't help but be their own worst critic. (They know where all the mistakes are, after all. :P)
I learned two useful skills in fifth grade: how to type and how to draw simple geometric shapes in perspective. As for the anatomy and face, I just kept drawing it, saying "No, that's not even close" and erasing it and redrawing it until I got to "Well, that's not completely objectionable..." Took me a good long while. (Probably an hour to an hour and a half, start to finish.)
I ought to toss an animated GIF of the various stages the picture went through into scraps.
Thanks for the ego-fuel!
