Speculative Skull Island Bullshit: Night boy
Sometimes, one can hear the crying and shouting of children in Skull Island’s forests at night, but it should be avoided to follow those voices, as Iwi children are wise enough not to stay in the forests after nightfall. They call the sources of the sounds “night boys”, malevolent spirits trying to lure people into the forest for them to never return. Scientists could verify the existence of childlike calls and could determine their source to be a species of giant tarsier. Their vocalisations’ uncanny resemblance to human children is only incidental; instead, they are mimicking the appearance of a specific tree’s bark, which is pale grey and flaky. Night boys spend the day clinging to those trees in groups and search for food at night. Like all tarsiers, they are carnivorous, preferring to go after the island’s giant arthropod fauna, but won’t disdain smaller vertebrates, either. Their large size hampers their climbing abilities, making them search for food mostly on the ground, where they move with a semi-upright, hopping gait.
Changelog:
-made them giant tarsiers because the original design was the most generic movie monster type of creature
The Disney character overlays are a measure to prevent art theft by corporations.

To be honest, I think that some of the copyrighted character water marks you’ve used should be more obvious. I doubt that the kind of people responsible for that last incident, actually look at fan art very carefully before stealing it. Unless of cause, you want Legendary to only find out that they included something Disney copyrighted after the film has released.
They obviously didn't look at it, considering the redesign in questiondidn't look that much like the original and they included parts of the background. And while the main reason for the overlays being rather faint is to make the underlying parts more visible, the mentioned scenario would at least be pretty hilarious if there's a lawsuit coming from sloppy art theft.
The intro of Godzilla vs. Kong. There is a circular painting where the skullcrawler drawing is included. Screenshots: https://64.media.tumblr.com/98aac63.....0a7ab8cdef.jpg
