I actually used the dithering there to make the appearance of lights in the window and in the background. I had hoped to make them look like random lights outside, with a bit of reflection on the tabletop. they were originally just some circles but I felt it didnt really look like glowing lights, that way. I most certainly don't add anything without thought, but I do see what you mean. I'd hoped I wasn't to excessive with it, but I really did have an intent to put a mood of glowing lights around in a dim room through a dark window, with the yellow in the corner just being whatever bar lights are behind her.

haha, dont worry i like pixel art too and am always wanting to give people tips! But as much as i appreciate the crit, I just cant agree about the dithering ): I feel i worked hard to get it to look clean and even and fade out smoothly without going to far with it, and i dont really see how another kind of dither would benefit! Ive seen bad dithering and how it can mess things up, but I just don't see how all this applies to my picture, where do you feel a shape is lost? where do you feel it looks to patterny? Though, as well, I am wondering what sort of dither you would suggest..? What do YOU think would be "better"? Sorry if I sound harsh as well. (also I may not ever post it but I used to be big into pixeling so don't talk down >_> )
but also, youre right that some parts are probably a little messily done

dont be sorry!! I know im not the greatest at it either haha, I do wanna get better and learn so I really appreciate it! ah and its not a sun! Its just some light coming in, could be a streetlight or some random city light, i wanted her to appear in a city-area bar, i guess. I can see why one would think its a sun though. and I see what you mean, too! like instead of one plain "ball" of lgiht, like.. yeah, yeah i getcha. that's actually a good idea. That totally makes sense and I think I will try it! Though I wanna eep it rather soft because the light is supposed to be coming in a sort of foggy bar window.

im thinking though i might remove the extra lights in the back in the window and keep it to one, do you think that would work?
