THis is a gorgeous guitar. It has a mutli ply maple neck and maple top and this back is very clearly made of "ebonized" alder. Ebonized means that they had a guy at the factory rubbing it down with black dye.
I love how they tried color matching the control cavity cover. It is a much better color match than my crappy photography would lead you to believe.
You can kinda see it in this shot, but the neck joint is a standard gibson cock pocket joint. there is a tenon under the fret board that is part of the neck that fits into a slot cut into the body. This actually has a lot of gluing surface and provides a pretty strong neck joint.
