Yes, the misunderstanding was however related to the spirit of the occasion and what it entailed, as opposed to the idea of wearing a suit. I was under the impression, from the silly email that was circulated prior, that it was open to fancy dress as well, as long as a suit was involved. I was mistaken, as it happened. Still, my colleagues liked it. Except for the boss, who was having a meltdown because we were being visited by senior staff that day D:
