These were was submitted a while back to a pet site back when I was still looking for a "job", but were rejected for various reasons (note I made three versions, all three rejected because of line and shading issues. A part of me agrees with the criticism, but another part of me wishes to give them the metaphorical middle finger just the same. Sigh.)
Ironically, I get hooked up with two other projects and ended up not *needing* to apply to said site, since I was no longer available and stuff. Good riddance, really; if I was having this much trouble during the application stages, actually WORKING there would have been worse. And doing said work for no pay? WAY worse.
Why yes, he WAS based off my character Viledove, why do you ask?

It was a revamp of a crappy old pet, they said the pose wasn't "dynamic enough" and they approved of the lineart, even before I colored it.
And when I show them the finished product they turn around and say, oh, the pose isn't as good as the other ones, and some other BS.

Nah, don't feel bad 'bout it. Long ago the creator of that site commissioned me for couple pets (it was that one and this one sea creature thing, I think) with the condition I not be made a staff member -- I worked for another site for about a month and was simply not in the mood to go through that again XP
The funny part was that that very bird creature you were asked to redo? The retarded-looking swirlies in the back of the wings? They themselves altered the markings and didn't even tell me or ever once asked if maybe I could alter that design myself. Meh.
